Blue Like You by Sara Salam

A red Siberian husky named Neela and her human Sara go on adventures in Newport Beach and beyond, where Neela meets animals that are blue like her. Her name, Neela, means "blue" in the Urdu language.

Children's Books (Adventure) - Pre-K through Kindergarten

Sara Salam is a local author, born and raised in Newport Beach. She has written 13 books and counting, across fiction, non-fiction, poetry, as well as a children's book. She is also the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Director for the NHL's San Jose Sharks. Sara has worked in pro sports for 11 seasons across three teams in three leagues in three markets. She was a member of the 2013 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox front office. Sara has always been passionate about helping people feel seen, particularly through writing and relating to original content. She enjoys spending time with her red husky Neela (the inspiration for her children's book Blue Like You), generally being outside, and traveling.
